NEW SONG POSTED FROM NOCTURNAL POISONING
Nocturnal Poisoning is a one-man acoustic band by Scott Connor formerly known to the world as Xasthur. Where Xasthur’s brand of depressive black metal earned them/him some accolades Connor has now dropped his black metal moniker and created something unique and beautiful with Nocturnal Poisoning. NP’s third album, the forthcoming Doomgrass, is definitely tainted with Connor’s unique style but black metal is replaced by influences such as bluegrass and even some country. I’m immediately reminded of the solo albums produced by Neurosis’ Scott Kelley which are also haunting acoustic works weaving in many styles outside of just metal. For Nocturnal Poisoning, Scott Connor seems to weave his melancholy tapestry in a very wide net that should have you tapping your foot as well as hanging your head with the weight of the world bearing down on you. I’m a bit of a sucker for good acoustic jams so I very much enjoyed it and can’t wait to hear the full album. Take a listen to Illusion of Worth below courtesy of Nocturnal Poisoning’s new label, The End Records.
Doomgrass comes out October 7th via The End Records and can be pre-ordered in a variety of bundles Here (link: http://www.theomegaorder.com/NOCTURNAL-POISONING )
